an ode to that "coffee friend"
This is so true. Gift me a bag of coffee, and I'll always be happy! Even if the place you're coming from isn’t known for coffee beans, coffee is sold everywhere. It could be cheap coffee from a local supermarket, and I'd still be happy. Because it’s a gift, and who wouldn't be happy to receive a gift? Also, cheap (or bad) coffee is better than no coffee.
I love how Bruce Willis is chill and charismatic, and seems humble, on this extract from an interview of 1995, when he had just turned 40. He was then at the peak of his career. He's one of my favourite actors, I'm sad about how his health turned out.
My top 5 most played artists this week (Jul 24-30) according to LastFM: Propagandhi (43), Mastodon (29), Dire Straits (18), Rush (16) and Cancer Bats (12).
Ron Gilbert announced Thimbleweed Park 2 for 2028! Great news! Thimbleweed Park was one of my favourite games of the last decade. It's a beautiful and fun good ol’ point and click like the ones I grew up with. And the soundtrack is awesome too! Can’t wait-a-reno!
I recently rewatched It, the miniseries from 1990. I had watched it when it was aired on TV (1993 in France) and I remember how it sort of disturbed me, back then, but in a good way. It's still a bit cheesy, but the photography, the music, the characters, the places… all in all it just builds an eerie and uncanny atmosphere that felt both good and weird back then, and still does now.
Just started a new book. Known as Journey to the West in English. I bought it many years ago (in 2008, I just checked). At first, what drew me to this book was that it's one of the sources of inspiration that led Akira Toriyama to create Dragon Ball. I tried to read it once, but I eventually gave up and forgot about it for a long time. Earlier this year, as I was browsing my library for interesting unread books, I noticed it and decided to add it to the pile of books I'd like to read in 2026. So far, after a few dozen pages, I'm having a good time reading Monkey King's travels and encounters.

Un peu plus d’un an après avoir lu le premier tome, je viens d’attaquer la suite, Retour à la Librairie Morisaki. Me voilà à nouveau plongé dans la douce atmosphère de Jinbōchō.
As I’m working on my content migration from WordPress to Pure Blog, I’m going through all my articles to see if everything went smoothly, and fix or tweak things if needed. Surprisingly, I’m finding myself getting rid of the cover images on quite a lot of them 😅
