Final week recap of “Step aside, phone” is out!
Whatever we choose to do instead of looking carelessly at our phone screen is time much better spent.
(Yeah, I’m quoting myself!)

It’s crazy how much Jira and Confluence have become enshitified lately. They’re so laggy and slow that I’m constantly misclicking. And don’t even get me started on “Rovo”. Argh!

Week 3 recap of “Step aside, phone” is out. It feels so good to slow down, to disconnect from the digital noise and to reconnect with the tangible world.

Each morning for almost two months now, I’ve been playing this little game. Besides being cute with its retro graphics, it’s a fun challenge to start the day. I highly recommend it!

I finished the main story of Cyberpunk 2077 a few days ago, after roughly 80 hours. What a game! I still have plenty of side missions to tackle, plus the Phantom Liberty expansion. I already have enough material for two more “Night City Wanderer” posts, and completing some of these final objectives, especially the expansion, should allow for a couple more. I’ll take a break after that, but I’ll definitely be back for another run sooner or later.Panam and me

I just discovered Kev Quirk’s new project: Pure Blog.

Oh boy, this is so cool! The idea of making the switch is already stuck in the back of my mind. I’ll let it simmer while I figure out the logistics of such a move. I’m not sure yet if I’ll pull the trigger, but it’s incredibly appealing!

Lately, I haven’t had the energy to do much, including writing on my blog. I feel quite pessimistic about almost everything, writing included. I don’t like being this way. I’m trying to work on it, but it’s tough. Despite that, I have two article ideas in mind: a 2025 music wrap-up, and a rewrite of an old piece about Christmas trees I wrote and published around ten years ago. I’ll try to find the motivation to write and publish them. I think it will make me feel a bit better

I just read the article “Listening to Full Albums Again” by Ariadne [1], who writes:

“After the mp3 boom and the rise of streaming, something changed. I almost stopped listening to albums as complete works. I was missing that feeling of sitting down with a cohesive experience, where each song connects to the next and the order matters.

I have been listening to the same playlists on Deezer for years, with almost no changes. So, this year I decided to return to full albums.”

I really relate to that. That’s exactly how I felt when I switched back to listening to music locally [2]. Here’s what I wrote, back then:

“Now, I’m enjoying a more traditional and immersive way of listening, going through entire albums from start to finish. I don’t mean to sound elitist, but there’s something special about albums: a flow, a mood, even themes or a story. It sometimes reminds me of loading a CD into my stereo, flipping through the booklet, looking at the art, and reading the lyrics while listening to it.”

I’m still mostly listening to full albums and enjoying it. I’ve also been rediscovering tracks I had kind of forgotten when I was using streaming services.
